About
NJVES L.L.C. was founded by Dr. Jeff Makowski in November of 2006. Dr. Makowski is originally from North Arlington and graduated Queen of Peace High School in 1992. He then attended La Salle University and went on to receive his masters degree from Iowa State University (1998). After obtaining his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University (2002), Dr. Makowski completed an internship program in Emergency Medicine and Surgery at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, NJ. Dr. Makowski has served as the director of Jersey Shore Veterinary Emergency Service for the last several years prior to opening North Jersey Veterinary Emergency Services, LLC.

North Jersey Veterinary Emergency Services L.L.C. located in Lyndhurst NJ is a full service Veterinary Emergency Hospital with a doctor and several technician assistants at the hospital during all hours of operation. We do not offer any appointments to our customers since all walk in emergencies are welcomed. Calling in advance is appreciated so we may prepare for your arrival as best as possible. NJVES L.L.C. offers local and convenient emergency care for your pet when your regular veterinarian is unavailable. We do not offer routine procedures such as spays, neuters, vaccines or wellness exams. Please contact your regular veterinarian to setup appointments for these routine services.

Doctors

We are pleased to announce the addition of two new doctors to our practice:

Dr. Clare Deming, DVM - Dr. Deming has been with our practice for the last two years and has a special interest in veterinary emergency medicine and surgery.  Upon completion of an internship in internal medicine and surgery at Garden State Vet. Specialists, she spent her time working at several specialized emergency hospitals in both northern and southern NJ.  When not working hard, Dr. Deming spends her time enjoying writing, fencing and flying.

Dr. Jeff Applegate, DVM - Dr. Applegate is our newest addition to the practice and has come to us after recently finishing his internship in internal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center (AMC) in NYC.  He has a strong interest in both emergency medicine and exotics.  When not hard at work, Dr. Applegate enjoys raising exotic animals, gardening and dancing. 

Fees
NJVES L.L.C. charges $115.00 for an office exam during our regular hours. Any treatments, medications, or procedures will be an additional fee added to the office exam fee. Accepted forms of payment include: Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Debit Cards, American Express and CareCredit which you can apply for online. Sorry but we do not accept checks. All payments must be made at the time services are rendered. We do not offer payment programs but we accept CareCredit

Directions
From Rt 3 East-Take the Ridge Road exit and make a left. Go to traffic light and make a right turn onto Ridge Road. Go about 1.2 miles to NJVES on the left hand side, just after Summer Ave. Make left hand turn into driveway just past Jo Jo's Pizzeria.

From Rt 3 West-Take Ridge Rd/Park Av. exit. Go to stop sign and turn left onto Ridge Rd. Go about 1.2 miles to NJVES on the left hand side, just after Summer Ave. Make left hand turn into driveway just past Jo Jo's Pizzeria.

From Rt 21 South-Take the Lyndhurst/Nutley exit. Turn left at stop sign. At traffic light turn left and go over bridge, proceed thru traffic light and up Kingsland Av. to traffic light on Ridge Rd. Turn right on Ridge Rd. to NJVES on the left hand side, just after Summer Ave. Make left hand turn into driveway just past Jo Jo's Pizzeria.
